Following an open competitive tender process conducted by the Republic of Malawi and the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the consortium of EDF and SN Power was officially appointed in September 2022 as the Strategic Sponsors to lead the development and implementation of the project under a Public-Private Partnership, alongside the Government of Malawi and IFC.

As of today, the Developers of the Project are:
